Travel Light, Shoot Often

Modern phone cameras handle Nordic light beautifully. A small clip-on lens or lightweight mirrorless body is enough for most hikers — leave the telephoto at home unless wildlife is the goal.

Trail Tips

• Shoot during golden hour — long Nordic summer evenings are ideal.
• Use foreground elements: birch trunks, cairns, wildflowers.
• Bracket exposure for high-contrast fjord scenes.
• Keep camera accessible in hip belt pouch — not buried in pack.
• Respect LNT — never trample meadows for a better angle.

Gear

• Ultralight tripod or foldable mini-tripod for dawn shots.
• Microfiber cloth for rain and spray.
• Spare battery — cold drains lithium fast.
• Dry bag for electronics in wet weather.
