The Seven Principles
Leave No Trace (LNT) is a framework for minimizing your impact in wild places. In Scandinavia's popular fjord and mountain corridors, small individual choices add up fast.
Trail Tips
- Plan ahead and prepare — know regulations and weather.
- Travel and camp on durable surfaces.
- Dispose of waste properly — pack out all rubbish.
- Leave what you find, including stones and plants.
- Minimise campfire impacts; use a stove where possible.
- Respect wildlife and keep a safe distance.
- Be considerate of other visitors and local communities.
On Busy Nordic Trails
Stick to marked paths in fragile alpine meadows. Stepping off-trail for a photo may not recover for years in subarctic climates.
